Yocum's Self - Defense

Yocum's Self-Defense was founded by Sensei Jeremy Yocum in March of 2010 with 40+ years of Martial Arts experience, Sensei Yocum holds Black Belts in Yoseikan Karate (6th DAN), Self-Defense (6th DAN), Taekwondo (6th DAN) and Shin Narage Kung Fu Karate (3rd DAN).

He also has extensive knowledge in Weapons, Weapons Defense, Hapkido, Aikido, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)

Sensei Yocum has trained with the late Senior Grandmaster Brent Thompson - 10th DAN (Tornado Kempo Combat Karate) 1998 - 2011 and also with Senior

Grandmaster Louis McMahon 10th DAN (Sohei Chuan-Fa Kempo Karate) 1998 - 2019 both from Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Mr. Yocum has been taught under the instruction of:

Sensei Raymond Johnson - 5th DAN (American Tiger Karate) 2003 - 2004 Hinesville, GA.

Master Mike McGuire - 5th DAN (Jung's Taekwondo) 2004 - 2008 Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Mr. Yocum was the Assistant Head Instructor of (Heaven and Earth Taekwondo) Mt. Pleasant Branch from 2008 - 2011.

Sifu Elm Rufe - 8th DAN (Eagle Claw Alliance) (Shin Narage Kung-Fu Karate) 2013 Madison, AL.

Sensei Yocum is currently under the instruction of Senior Grandmaster Terry Reid - 10th DAN (Universal Martial Arts Systems) 2021 - Present Las Vegas, NV.

Mr. Yocum is a 9 time board and concrete breaking Grand Champion at local and state levels. He has participated and judged in over 100+ tournaments and won first place in over 60+ martial arts tournaments at local and state levels, as well as placing second in the Iowa Games in sparring in 2010.

He use to be ranked #1 in the states of Iowa and Georgia for 5 consecutive years in board & concrete breaking, as well as extreme and creative breaking from 2000-2004.

Mr. Yocum used to go throughout the United States doing extreme breaking demonstrations since the age of 16.

Sensei Yocum is a former MMA fighter (2007 - 2011).

Sensei Yocum is also an Army Vet (2000 - 2004).
